Job Description Summary
The Staff Attorney assists the General Counsel’s office in providing legal services for the College with exposure to a wide range of legal issues. Primary responsibilities include providing legal advice and counsel on higher education and public entity compliance; drafting, revising and negotiating a wide variety of contracts applicable in the higher education environment; assisting with oversight of contract management process; and if needed, collaborating with the Purchasing Department on Requests for Proposals and other procurement-related contracts, policies and procedures. Other responsibilities include assisting with the management of document requests, conducting legal research, and drafting and providing advice on College policies.
The Staff Attorney works under the supervision of the General Counsel. This is a security-sensitive position, maintaining strict confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications
Juris Doctorate and admitted and in good standing member of the State Bar.
Five (5) years related experience.

Exemplary record of professional accomplishments. Experience in the representation of government, higher education, corporate, or other complex organizations.
